  7. Typex is a general-purpose text editor designed specifically for the X Window
  8. System and Motif graphical user interface. The pull-down menus, pop-up dialogs,
  9. and scroll bars make Typex extremely user friendly and easy to learn and use.
  10. The colors and fonts of the various components can be customized to suit
  11. individual user's preferences through widget resources
  12.  
  13. Unlike vi, Typex is modeless. Regular keystrokes are always entered as text.
  14. There are no terse commands that must be remembered, either. Commands are
  15. chosen from the pull-down menu with the mouse or issued from the keyboard via
  16. control keys. The mouse is used also for selections, cursor movements, and
  17. scrolling

  19. The inter-application cut-and-paste capability allows users to move data
  20. between different applications windows. The multiple-undo feature allows users
  21. to roll back more than one operation. Function keys can be programmed for
  22. frequently-used long strings. Other features include supporting three shapes of
  23. cursor, I-beam, block, and underline, and saving old version of modified file
  24. in a backup copy.
